MASUAS
Manchester and Salford Universities Air Squadron
All University Air Squadron students are entitled to up to 10 hours of free instructional flying each academic year. Flying is tought using a specially designed UAS syllabus which is intended to lead on to EFT (Elementary Flying Training) for those students accepted to join the RAF as pilots. At MASUAS the flying training is delivered in conjunction with 10 AEF (Air Experience Flight), also based at RAF Woodvale
The Grob Tutor T1 is currently used by all UASs and AEFs to deliver flying training and Air Experience and is the aircraft flown during EFT.

The Grob Tutor T1 replaced the Royal Air Force's fleet of Bulldog primary training aircraft from 1999 onwards and unusually, the aircraft are not owned and maintained by the RAF, but carry civilian registrations and serviced under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
